Step back in time at Norton Court Cottage, a 400-year-old stone cottage on the edge of Kewstoke in the Somerset countryside. It sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms, a big living room with a log burner, and a private garden. Dogs are welcome too.

Sand Bay beach is about 5 minutes' drive away and Weston-super-Mare about 10, so you get countryside on the doorstep and the seaside just down the road.

• Living room: big and cosy, with the original fireplace, a log burner, a TV with Netflix, board games, books and a basket of toys for the kids
• Kitchen: fully equipped, with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine
• Dining: table seating 6
• Bedroom 1: king-size bed
• Bedroom 2: double bed
• Bedroom 3: bunk beds, best suited to children
• Bathrooms: family bathroom with bath and shower, plus a second bathroom
• Garden: private, with picnic bench and BBQ
• For little ones: stair gates and a high chair

Guest access

You'll have the whole cottage and private garden to yourselves, plus a dedicated parking space in the car park behind.

Other things to note

• Dogs: up to two, £20 per dog. The garden has some gaps in the fencing and a low front wall, so keep an eye on bigger or bouncier dogs.
• Getting around: there's no pavement on the lane, so you'll want a car for the beach, shops and pubs.
• Stairs: it's a 400-year-old building with steep stairs and a few steps between rooms, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues.
• Arriving in the dark? Use postcode BS22 9YR or what3words town.juices.cubs. We're right next door to Manor Farm Cattery. The car park isn't lit, so a torch helps.
• Check-in and check-out: check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. Early check-in and late check-out are available for £25 each, subject to availability. Please request them when you book.
• The lane: the cottage faces the country lane into Kewstoke, with horses in the field opposite. As with many rural cottages, you may hear passing cars during the day, but guests often describe the cottage as quiet and peaceful inside.
